Paradise Beach Improvement Association Minutes for the July 21, 2009 meeting Attendees: John Breen (president) Peggy Seaman (treasurer) Bob Seaman Michael & Bonnie Dausch Patti Gould CR Linderborn Duane Kaeding Diane Kaeding Judy Nelson Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by John Breen. Treasurers Report: Peggy read the treasury report, and the balance as of 6/09 was $6141.09. Old Business: John read the minutes from the previous meeting. One of the topics left open from the last meeting was the date of the picnic. It is now definite: October 4th is the date. Bonnie stated that the cost of the picnic should be the same as last year's picnic, so we can use the same tickets as last year if we change the date. Bonnie also stated that she was still on the hook for calling Sergeant Pleasant and she will take care of that soon. We will try to arrange to Sergeant Pleasant speak at the September meeting where we will have some milk and cookies (and other refreshments). At the last meeting, Bob Brenton suggested that we send out an email immediately prior to the meeting just to remind people. John did that this time. Bob also stated that he would update the sign on the community property. John will check with Bob to see if there is any progress. At the last meeting there was a suggestion that we have the community property surveyed. John has not made any progress on this subject. Bob Seaman was volunteered to look into the cost of doing this. New Business: John asked about the maintenance to the beach property. It appears that it is not being mowed often enough. It was stated that there is a person that is mowing the beach property in lieu of paying the yearly dues. John suggested contacting Corey to see if he could take care of the beach property also. He also noted that the beach property was in a state of disrepair. The walkway to the beach is cracked and falling into the beach. He also stated that the facing on the wall on the right hand side fell off and is now partially buried in the sand. It was suggested that we look into getting the step at the beach repaired, and Willie Nazarenus be contacted for the work. The date that the dumpsters are being delivered is Wednesday, September 9th. They will be removed on Friday, September 11th. Rules for the dumpsters: No paint, no chemicals, no tires, no appliances, no tree trunks. The next order of business was to examine the Pier Construction Agreement that Patti Gould brought to the meeting. If it was in order, we could approve the construction and sign the forms. After examination of the documents by Michael Dausch, it was determined that a re-write was needed. It was agreed that the document would be re-written and John and Michael would meet with Patti the following day to sign it. The last order of business was the yard sale. It is scheduled for Saturday, September 5th. Peggy will put the advertisements in the Pasadena Voice, the Penny Saver, and the Gazette. All are welcome to set up tables at their house or on the community property. There are no tables available for the community property, so you will have to provide your own. Meeting was adjourned at 7:25 pm. NEXT MEETING: Tuesday August 11th at 7:00pm Location: Kurtz Beach!!
