Paradise Beach Improvement Association Minutes for the September 11, 2012 meeting Attendees: John Breen (president) Peggy Seaman (treasurer) Bob Seaman Bonnie Dausch Michael Dausch Paul Streckfus Cindy Leake Joyce Goetz Willie Nazarenus Bob Brenton (vice president) Susan Brenton Meeting was called to order at 7:02 pm by John Breen. Treasurers Report: Peggy read the treasury report, and the balance as of 9/11/12 was $4346.40. Old Business: Community Property Sign: Bob Brenton completed the sign for the community property. It looks great! Thanks Bob and Susan. John is planning to add the corner posts before the end of the summer. The Community Yard Sale was held on September 8th. There was not much participation from members of the community. People that showed up were sadly disappointed. John stated that we will need to re-evaluate the need for a yard sale next year. The dumpsters were delivered to the community property on September 10th. It was noted that there were several large tree limbs and a few appliances in the dumpsters. These items are not allowed in the dumpsters. We may lose the privilege of getting free dumpsters from the community if this continues. What’s a mother to do? New Business: Willie stated that the community sign on his property needed to have some maintenance. He had the work done, and will send the bill to Peggy. Bonnie and her nephew were at the property trying to clean up the back corner, and she noticed that there was a big open hole in the back of the property. It used to be covered by wood planks, but they have disappeared. This matter needs to be fixed in the near future. Susan asked about mosquito spraying in the neighborhood. John stated that he has called several times and spoken to the head of the mosquito project in the county. We are on a waiting list and will probably not be added to the regular list, especially since the county is in the current fiscal crisis. Susan stated that the property behind her house is a swampy area, and a breeding ground for mosquitos. John suggested that she call the county and describe the situation. They may visit the area and put down some mosquito larvicide. Michael Dausch read a letter that was going to be sent to the health department regarding the property at Kurtz and Paradise Beach Roads. The letter was to ask the health department to help us eliminate the un-healthful practices that are being perpetrated at the property. It was agreed to by the group that the letter was appropriate and should be sent. Meeting was adjourned at 7:30 pm. NEXT MEETING: Tuesday October 9th at 7:00pm Location: Kurtz Beach!!
